Oke-Ogun and Ibarapa sections of Oyo State is known to be the headquarters of charcoal production in Nigeria, little was known about the negative impact of the near 100% deforestation of all the government forest reserves. The Igangan Forest Reserve now called Igangan Agro Park is no exemptions as the over 39,000 hectares of the government forest reserves have been totally wiped out of the planted commercial trees. Hence, the negative impact of deforestation for charcoal production was evident in the total loss of the forest habitat and ecosystem, also, real life effect of climate change within the afore mentioned zones of Oyo State.
Hence, within the concept of Oyo State Government Agricultural revolution, we are set to work in consonant with other investors at Igangan Agro Park to positively alter the face of Agriculture and Agribusiness in the state and by extension, Nigeria

Existing Agribusiness Experience:

KATCO farms operates from 3 different states, in Nigeria namely:
Niger State: Animal Husbandry
Kwara State: Animal Husbandry
Oyo State: Cashew plantation mixed with arable crops such as Cassava and Maize

KATO Farms is happy to state some of our ongoing agribusiness endeavours: i. Cultivation of 100 hectares of cashew plantation: this is our projection for 2020 farm season ii. Cultivation of 50 hectares of cassava and grains such as maize and soybeans as intercrop farm produce with the cash crop iii. Construction of our cattle ranch (animal husbandry)

KATCO farms in Igangan started its farm operations since August 2018 and have cultivated 50 hectares of Cashew till date. Our choice of cashew seedlings are Brazilian and Indian, this is due to our mid-term planning of exporting the produce to international market in order to earn FOREX while our long term plan is to locally process our cashew nuts and supply directly to the huge consumers in America and Europe.

KATCO farms is set to expand its Animal Husbandry agribusiness from the North into Oyo State hence, we shall be training local population within Igangan fattening technologies for cattle and goats.
Also, we shall be contributing to the restoration of destroyed ecosystem at the forest reserve through our cash crop project with emphasis on cashew.
Our various agribusiness activities shall attract the payment of VAT and other charges by the Oyo State government, this means that we shall be contributing to the robustness of the state’s economy under our amiable leader, Governor Seyi Makinde.
